Seasonal rebranding

witnessing and working where we are

Normally at this time of year, I do a deep-dive reflection and slow down into soft, warm summer. As the heat rises, I generally want to do less and less. But this year is different.

In January, I felt tired and overwhelmed. Instead of pushing through and putting on hustle pants, I allowed everything to be as it was and spent time noticing it.

Witnessing is always where the work starts and continues. Forcing stops meaningful progress.

Last week, I turned 49. As I enter this next season of my life, I want less (and less and less) things to do and possess, and more time for wandering thoughts and unscheduled moments of wild presence. I’m writing more fiction and poetry again, and am less bothered by the stories and conditioning in my mind that I’m working on. (read my birthday musings here)

I’m more into curiosity and calm than rigidity and chaos, and feel like this next season is one of inspiration and value-driven actions.

I am not the only one.

Right now, I’m working on SIX company rebrands to refresh foundational messaging, voice visions and missions, create compelling and connective website content, and align marketing strategies and business goals for companies who want to do good and earn well.

I never would’ve suspected summer was the season for rebranding, but here we are.

Maybe it’s a reflection of how the world is seeking meaningful connection and work. Economic and societal polls and data show we’re still reacting to the far-reaching global shifts from the pandemic.

But while some companies are forcing a return to what was— butts in office seats, capitalism at any cost, pushing people back into systems designed to keep them exhausted and frustrated so that no real progress can occur,

Others are SAYING NO and instead are creating meaningful and sustainable businesses that prioritize people first.

These are my people. They should be all of our people.

As I embark on this last year in my 40s, I’m getting even more intentional about the work I do and who I do it with. I’m prioritizing my time to help more clients like Erricka, Racheal, and Meredith & Jen (who actually lead and own 3 businesses between them!).

I’m not here for transactional capitalism at all costs.

Let’s not sacrifice humanity to uphold hierarchies that desperately need to evolve.

Let’s put humans first, always.

I’ve got space later this summer to refresh your strategy and stories. Hit reply if you want to explore working together later this year.

Let’s be who we are and let the world adjust.

xox,

Michelle
