Waiting for inspiration?

hanging out in the comfort zone

I’ve been surrounded by inspiration lately: magazine launches, retreat planning, gatherings with founders and makers, facilitating epic CreativeMornings moments, clients launching their businesses and implementing their marketing strategies, and more.

Sometimes I have to pinch myself to remember that this life is real.

But this isn’t an email to brag about my Instagram-ready life (because let’s remember that IG isn’t really real, more like a highlight reel, and life isn’t lived on social media).

This is a reflection on inspiration.

Or, more succinctly, on readiness.

At least once in the course of working with ALL of my clients, there’s a moment when they want inspiration to take their next steps.

Inspiration to

Say the right thing to attract a great client

Feel more “ready” to tackle social media

Launch a new offer, or upgrade a current one

Invite someone to work with them

Finally take action on that project they can’t get out of their head

Stop doing things outside of their genius zone and get the help they need to grow

Every single one of them has had a moment when they were seeking something outside of themselves to spurn them forward and into action.

(I’ve been guilty of this, even though I know that the aligned path rarely illuminates itself on its own.)

Waiting for inspiration — or permission, or readiness, or perfect clarity, or any of the other words that we use to mask our fear of stepping outside of our comfort zones — is exactly what is keeping us from finding it.

Inspiration doesn’t come to us. We must go to it.

We find it by taking the next step, whether we’re ready or not.

We are never really ready.

Don’t miss out on what you want to create because you’re waiting for a lightbulb moment to quell the fear of uncertainty, discomfort, and vulnerability.

The fastest way to get to the inspiration — and clarity, readiness, and confidence — comes when you let go of the idea that you need to possess these things before you take a step toward the goals you want to achieve the most.

Michelle

P.S. Work with me! I’ve got 1 space left in May to launch or refresh your brand! If you’re ready to ditch BS marketing, tell more authentic (and converting) stories, or need a comprehensive brand and marketing content identity and strategy, let’s chat to see if it’s time to create some brand magic.

P.P.S. Retreat with me! Ready for some inspired play? Recapture your youth — or the youth you most wanted — at this intentionally playful day retreat that highlights the leisure of June days and the spontaneity of summer nights. Expect childlike wonder, festive activities, and intentional reflections culminating in a group bonfire where we let our inner wild child shine. Now through May 6th, the first 5 people who use code TIMETOPLAY get $95 off. Let the Wild Rumpus Start!

(My day retreats are non-traditional, “witchy,” & aligned with women and gender-expansive humans. If this isn’t your vibe, join me at events like CreativeMornings/Richmond or invite me to present to your group on how to Ditch BS Marketing & Tell Authentic Stories that Convert)

Rest. Recalibrate. Restore. Renew.
