Feels like the first time…

can it feel like the very first time?

If you missed my email on the promise of shortcuts, find it here.

My mantra for this week has been to try to experience everything I’m doing like it’s the first time — to approach with curiosity and wonder instead of driving to an outcome or objective.

It hasn’t been easy. Our brains and behaviors are hardwired and we often take shortcuts for efficiency, not the meandering route.

While it’s not possible to truly approach everything as if it were new — we’re still a product of our lived experiences — it is possible to pause, take a breath, notice, and drop into our bodies and notice what we see, what we can touch, what we taste and smell, and what we hear.

This practice allows us to be where we are at any given moment, instead of falling into patterns and thoughts that our lovely minds have already figured out.

(One of my amazing clients just did an Embodiment Lab retreat that dropped us all into our senses for a day. Follow her and check out the next one!)

Next week, I’m working with my clients in our Confident Marketing group to facilitate values-led storytelling. While I have given this workshop numerous times in both short and extended formats, I’m approaching it with the curiosity of the first time and checking in with my own values for brand, business, and life before delving into theirs.

If you've been on my list for any amount of time, you know everything I write comes back to the things I value: being present to "Be Here Now", unscripting our inner stories to "Be More You," creating "Authentic Stories" out of "Practicing Self-Trust" so we can "Make Meaningful Progress," to name a few.

I believe that it is important for business owners to be clear on the services offer, however it's more important to reveal HOW we deliver them and the values we bring to the work we do.

Values are the difference between serving and selling.

It’s also important to revisit our process with fresh eyes to ensure that we are living and delivering on the values we believe.

Here’s to that first-time feeling,

Michelle

P.S. I've got room for one more Brand Story client to start at the end of this month if you're ready to create or refresh your brand messaging for your website or marketing. Let's talk!

P.P.S. I'm thinking about taking the highlights from my Values-Led Marketing signature session and putting it into a free download. Would you be interested in a copy? If so, reply directly to me and let me know and I'll send it to you when it's ready.
