The Art of Letting Go

Letting Go to Be More You

If you missed my email on quitting, find it here. Also, early-bird closes TODAY for Confident, Authentic Marketing!

This week, I gave a talk on “Unveiling Your Authentic Self” and what it means to let things go to find more alignment and self-trust.

While the talk was in person — surrounded by beer barrels and 30+ fabulous women in the back of a brewery here in Richmond — you can peep this video we recorded before the event to discuss the “real work” humans need to do to live more authentically and in alignment with ourselves in our crazy, hustle-heavy world.

The big takeaway?

Your tomorrow is made from the actions you take today.

But, if we’re stuck in reactionary mode and acting from the same scripts that got us here in the first place, our actions may not be aligned with the results we seek.

Anyone else spend the majority of their youth trying to force, coerce, bribe, “make resolutions,” overreact, and shame themselves into behavior change? Just me? Cool.

Results were spotty at best, and, spoiler alert: shame really didn’t work.

What does work, however, is having a practice of letting go of the emotions, thoughts, and patterns (and that pesky subconscious programming) that perpetuate our struggles and suffering.

Notice I said practice.

This isn’t a magic one-and-done thing…

I promise you, though, that this practice works to unearth our internal, dysfunctional stories and actually helps us resolve the things that are keeping us from living more freely and easily.

Plus, the process gets easier and more intuitive every time you do it.

Use it to process the feelings and thoughts that are keeping you stuck in patterns that don’t serve the life you most want to build.

Use it to surface the hard things that you’ve repressed for fear of not being able to handle them.

Use it to reconnect with who you really are underneath the stories you’ve come to believe about yourself.

Use it to access the truest version of you — and feel more free.

I’ve shared versions of this Letting Go practice throughout my work with my clients, but this is the most complete version I’ve shared to date.

You can download it here.

Try it out the next time you’ve got big feels and big stuckness. Let me know how it goes.

And, if you like it, forward the download page to a friend.

Here’s to you being the most authentic, beautiful version of you.

xox,

Michelle
